An emergency cabinet meeting held at Singha Durbar on Sunday decided to send President Dr Ram Baran Yadav to Japan for medical checkup and bear all the expenses for his checkup and treatment.
Yadav will be accompanied a eight-member entourage, including his son Dr Chandra Mohan Yadav, daughter Anita Yadav, advisor Surya Dhungel, personal physician Yadav Bhatta, three security personnel and protocol officers from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA).
President Yadav had been manifesting gastroenteritis complications. As a black spot seen in the large intestine could not be diagnosed properly, doctors at TU Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj and Grande International Hospital, Dhapasi had suggested taking him abroad for further check up and treatment.
