Nat’l football team off to Doha for friendly match with Philippines

Nepali National Football Team on Tuesday evening left for Doha to play a friendly match against Philippines that is scheduled to be held on April 11 at Grand Hamad.

The squad comprises Anil Gurung, Bhola Nath Silwal, Bikram Lama, Bishal Shrestha, Jagajeet Shrestha, Kiram Chemjong, Tanka Bahadur Basnet, Raju Tamang, Santosh Shahukhala, Rabin Shrestha, Ritesh Thapa, Rohit Chand, Sabindra Shrestha, Sagar Thapa, Sandip Rai, Jumanu Rai, Sujal Shrestha, Hitendra Karki, Biraj Maharjan, Asim Jung Karki and Deepak Rai.

Similarly, other officials include team manager Lalit Krishna Shrestha, head coach Raju Kaji Shakya, goalkeeper coach Upendra Man Singh, physio Suraj Bhusal, Gaurav Thapa and Sudharhan Devkota.

ANFA also bade farewell to the team amidst a function at Dasharath Stadium the same day it left.

The practice matches are as part of the preparation for the SAFF Championship 2015, said head coach Shakya.

Nepal had also played friendly match with Yemen on March 26, 2014.
