The Higher Secondary Education Board (HSEB) has urged the District Education Officers to stay in their respective district during this year’s +2 exams.

Grade 12 exams are scheduled to begin Friday whereas Grade 11 exams begin from May 15.

The DEOs have not been as accountable as they should have been when it comes to conducting the exams in a free and fair manner, HSEB officials claimed on Wednesday.

Organizing a press conference, the officials informed a total of 764,725 students are appearing in the exams, including 226,312 for the grade 11 level.

HSEB Exam Controller Durga Aryal said that all preparations have been completed for this year’s board exams for which a total of 29,034 people have been mobilized.

Altogether 946 exam centers have been set up and equal number of superintendents have been appointed, HSEB officials further informed. Likewise, 1,184 assistant superintendents have also been appointed.

Similarly, the question papers have reached all the districts on time. The board conducts exams of 156 subjects at the +2 level. The code of conduct restricts the use of mobile phones, motorcycles and miniskirts, said the Exam Controller.
