Bhairahawa has registered second win in a row in the Pepsi Standard Chartered One-Day National Cricket Tournament that kicked off on Thursday.
In the match held at Pulchowk Engineering Ground, Region No. 4 Bhairahawa defeated Region No. 9 Mahendranagar by three wickets. Mahendranagar was restricted just to 136 runs in 33.1 overs as Bhairahawa’s Susan Bhari claimed three wickets and Lal Adhikari two wickets.
Bhim Sharki scored highest 31 runs in the first inning for Mahendranagar. While chasing the target, Bhairahawa met the target in 32.5 overs with the loss of seven wickets as Ashikari scored 41 runs and Antim Thapa added 20 runs.
Kamal Raj Joshi and Raj Dhamala took two wickets each for Mahendranagar. Bhairahawa had defeated Kathmandu by 125 runs on Wednesday.
Similarly, Region No. 8 Pokhara secured 47 runs victory against Region No. 6 Baitadi held at Rangashala Ground in Pokhara. However, this is a second straight defeat for Baitadi.
Pokhara scored total 186 runs losing all its wickets in 49.3 overs. Shiv Subedi scored 48 runs, Dipesh Khatri 27 runs, Karan K.C. 23 runs and Khemraj Poudel 20 runs.
Basant Khatri grabbed three wickets while Khem Bhatt and PremTamang took three and two wickets, respectively for Baitadi.
In the second inning, Baitadi was all out just to 139 runs in 44.4 overs. Chandra Gurung claimed four wickets and Karan K.C three wickets for Pokhara. Dilip Nath scored highest 31 runs.
