Dealers of consumer durables ranging from television, refrigerator and air conditioner to automobile, motorcycle and scooter have launched different types of schemes and offers to attract customers with the Nepali New Year round the corner.
They said that the New Year offers were aimed at promoting holiday shopping and their sales. Motorcycle brands like Yamaha, Honda, Bajaj, Suzuki and Mahindra, among others, have announced discount offers in a bid to lure buyers.
MAW Enterprises, the authorised distributor of Yamaha two-wheelers in Nepal, has launched a scheme named Winning Express under which customers will get a cash discount of Rs 7,100 on purchase of its bikes or scooters.
The company has also launched a lucky draw under which four of its customers will get an opportunity to watch the FIFA World Cup football match in Brazil.
Gaurav Hamal, head of marketing at the company, said that the scheme is aimed at increasing sales. The company said that it had targeted boosting sales by 25-30 percent this New Year. “As traditionally consumers have a trend of buying new things during the New Year, the scheme is part of our effort to woo buyers on the occasion,” he added.
Similarly, Syakar Trading Company, the authorised distributor of Honda motorcycles and scooters, has come up with discount card scheme under which buyers will get a cash gift of Rs 4,000 to Rs 100,000. The company is also offering a 10 percent discount on spare parts and 20 free servicings.
Meanwhile, SG Global, the authorised distributor of Mahindra two-wheelers, has introduced a scheme entitled No Jadu No Tuna, Sidhai 100 Guna under which customers get a Rs 7,100 flat discount.
