French business delegation arriving to explore investment opportunities

A French business delegation from New Delhi led by Jean – René Cougard, Head of Regional Economic Service at the French Embassy in New Delhi is coming on a two-day Nepal visit today afternoon.

The main objective of this visit is to explore trade and investment opportunities in Nepal, the French Embassy in Kathmandu said.

The delegation will focus on priority sectors identified by the Government of Nepal such as hydropower/energy, urban development, infrastructure, and tourism.

The delegation comprises of representatives from Alstom T&D, Accor, Alstom Power India, Dassault Système India, Egis India, Lumiplan ITS India, Morpho (Safran Group), Suez Enviornment India, Sunflower India/Total, Systra, Veolia Transport and France Nepal Chamber of Commerce and Industry. These companies are involved in power transimission sector, aerial trams, ropeway construction, hotel operator, power generation and sustainable innovations.

The business delegation is scheduled to meet with Ministers for Finance, Urban Development, and Energy, and senior government officials.  They will also meet with the CEO of Nepal Investment Board, Economic Advisor to the Prime Minister, FNCCI, and private sector companies, it is said.
