The Department of Passport (DoP) under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday added three more counters to receive passport application forms. The department will now collect passport applications from nine counters Tuesday, said a statement issued by the DoP.
In response to the difficulties faced by the public while submitting application forms on a fast track basis, we have added three more counters, read the statement.
At present, the DoP receives around 4,000 passport applications from citizens residing within the country and abroad. All centres will open from 8:00 am with a view to avoid long queues of service seekers. The public and the officials are excepted to lessen their burden after the government’s decision to have a total of nine passport application form collecting centres, said the statement. Moreover, females, elderly citizens and children are not required to stay in queue while submitting applications.
