Indstrial Goods and Trade Expo concludes

The Industrial Goods and Trade Exhibition concluded in the capital on Monday, recording transactions worth Rs 50 million.

According to Cottage and Small Industries Development Board (CSIDB), the organizer of the event, entrepreneurs participating in the five-day event were able to do good business due to huge footfalls. The event drew around 325,000 visitors, according to the organizers.

“The event is being organized annually for the past 25 years. And it is getting bigger with each passing year,” Nabin Kumar Jha, executive director of CSIDB, said. “The main objective of the event is to promote products of cottage and small scale industries and contribute for the development of the country´s industrial sector.”

Addressing the closing ceremony of the exhibition, Pradeep Jung Pandey, president of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), highlighted the contribution of small-scale industries to national economy. “Entrepreneurs should now focus on branding of products so as to expand their market and make their products competitive in international market,” said Pandey.
