The Kathmandu Metropolitan City ( KMC ) has decided to remove the padlock from the Thapathali-based Trade Tower office after Kanchanjunga Housing deposited Rs 3.5 million of the due tax amount.
The KMC earlier in the week had padlocked the office of the Kanchanjungha Housing at Trade Tower last week after it failed to pay the taxes for more than three years. The Housing owed over Rs 10 million in taxes.
The Revenue Department Chief at the KMC , Mahesh Kafle informed that Kanchanjungha deposited a cheque for Rs 3.5 million today.
Likewise, Kanchanjungha presented a letter stating that it will pay the remaining taxes in phases as ordered by the Supreme Court, informed Kafle.
