Minister for Commerce and Supplies Sunil Thapa has said that the supply of petroleum products will be smooth within a few days.
At an interaction organized here today by Reporters' Club, Minister Thapa said the government today has released Rs 2.50 billion to the Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) and an arrangement has been made to pay this amount to the Indian Oil Corporation.
The cut-off of petroleum product supply was because of payment dues to IOC, he said, adding that the current situation has emerged due to inability to disburse payment to the IOC.
He also shared that the Ministry is exploring ways to ensure smooth supply of petro products in a long-term manner.
