Myanmar's democratic leader Aung San Suu Kyi is set to visit Nepal for a two-day trip. Prime Minister Sushil Koirala had invited leader Suu Kyi for a Nepal visit when he had been there to Myanmar to attend the BIMSTEC summit recently.
PM Koirala's foreign affairs advisor Dinesh Bhattarai informed that Suu Kyi will visit Nepal to attend a programme going to be held on the occasion of 100th birth anniversary of former NC leader BP Koirala.
According to Bhattarai, leader Suu Kyi will arrive Nepal on June 14 for a two-day visit. "She has said she will come," said Bhattarai," We are preparing for the programme she will be attending."
Suu Kyi is the chairperson of the National League for Democracy of Myanmar. She was awarded with the Nobel Peace Prize in 1991. Suu Kyi has spent close to 15 years under house arrest in the past.
