NEEK Electro Tech 2014 has kicked off in capital Kathmandu with an aim to showcase various electronic products at Bhrikutimandap in the capital on Friday.

Inaugurating the five-day event, Energy Minister Radha Gyawali said the government has been preparing to mitigate load-shedding within the next three years.

“The government has also already included the plan to reduce power cuts in its policy and programmes,” she said.

Saying that the government has given high priority to the energy sector, Gyawali said that the country has also aimed to export power to international market.

The event is featuring some 200 stalls of various electronic products both from the country and abroad.

The expo is organised to exhibit the electrical products as well as to disseminate information about the latest products, said the organiser Federation of Electrical Entrepreneurs of Nepal (FEEN).
