Nepal Army a trusted, reliable force, says PM

Prime Minister Sushil Koirala has said that the Nepal Army has developed a tradition of working in line with the constitution and laws and under the civilian government.

Addressing a passing-out ceremony held at the Nepal Army Academy at Khariparti in Bhaktapur on Friday, Koirala said people see Nepal Army as a trusted and reliable force in terms of national security, according to a statement issued by the PM’s secretariat.

Prime Minister Koirala also honoured the best officials from the batch. At the programme, Dipendra Bikram KC and Ganesh Karki were awarded with the Sword of Honor, Rasmila Aryal with the Best Women Officer Cadet Cane and Rabin Shrestha with the Best Academic Award. Among the international participants, Wane Wai of Nigeria was awarded.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs Bam Dev Gautam, Chief of Army Staff General Gaurav SJB Rana, chiefs of Nepal Police and Armed Police Force and members of the diplomatic corps were also present at the ceremony.
