Property worth one million rupees was destroyed in a fire that took place at Belgachi VDC-5 of Mahottari district on Wednesday night.
The houses belonging to Ram Dular Mahato and Laxman Mahato were gutted in the fire , according to the District Police Office, Mahottari.
The fire is said to have originated from the kitchen, carried over by strong winds. Property including food stock, clothing, utensil, furniture, cash, and ornaments were gutted in the fire , according to DSP Rajendra Babu Regmi.
The Mahato family duo lost all their belongings in the fire , as it was not possible to put out the fire through local effort, as fire tender was not available, police said.
