United States Ambassador to Nepal Peter W. Bodde called on Minister of Commerce and Supplies Sunil Bahadur Thapa, Minister of Forest and Soil Conservation Mahesh Acharya, and Minister of Education Chitralekha Yadav in separate meetings on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Ambassador Bodde and Minister Thapa discussed the importance of economic development for Nepal, economic reforms, and a proposed new investment policy in their meeting, according to a statement issued by US Embassy in Kathmandu
Similarly, Ambassador Bodde and Minister Acharya discussed Nepal’s wildlife trafficking and conservation success stories, USAID’s environmental projects, and the potential for developing eco-tourism in Nepal. Finally, Minister Yadav and Ambassador Bodde talked about the U.S. Embassy’s English Access Micro-scholarship program and USAID’s new early grade reading program, added the statement.
