Bir Bahadur Khatri, a teacher, who had reached Ruppatan to collect yarsagumba, informed through telephone that they have been facing problem in preparing food and accommodation after the snowfall destroyed their tents.
He said the district has witnessed seven inch snowfall and added that the snowfall is taking place continuously.
Forty different places in the district including Jagadulla, Kagmara, Kunasa, Bhopa, Bhampe, Thage and Ruppatan, have experienced snowfall.
More than 53,000 people have reached Dolpa to collect the yarsagumba, it is learnt. Of them, more than 70 percent are women and children.
Three Jajarkot folks who had reached Ruppatan to collect yarsagumba have fallen sick and brought to health post, Majhphal, said police.
