Vice-president of CPN-UML Bamdev Gautam has said that the upcoming party's 9th general convention shall ensure participation of at least 33 per of women.
Speaking at a programme organised by All Nepal Women's Association in the capital on Wednesday, Gautam said increasing women's participation in politics is essential and hence 33 per cent should be ensured through the upcoming general convention of the party.
Another Vice-president Bidhya Devi Bhandari said the party needs to fulfill its pledge of ensuring 33 per cent participation of women in the party organization.
Party politburo member Radha Gyawali warned of coming up with a separate document in the coming general convention if 33 per cent participation of women was not guaranteed.
