Minister for General Administration, Lalbabu Pandit, has said the government would sack the government employees the moment they apply for job or living in the foreign countries.
Talking to journalists at Biratnagar Airport on Friday, Minister Pandit said the government would remove the officials working in the government offices or organizations if they were found to have applied for permanent residency (PR), green card, and Diversity Visa (DV). Such government officials will not get any money or facilities except from the insurance amount and provident fund, he said.
The Minister said the civil servants, teachers and other government officials could not work for earning at any other places except their posting. “Rather they should be responsible to their duties, nation and the people.”
He said the Civil Service Act has been amended with a decision of the Council of Ministers and has been sent to the Legislature-Parliament for endorsement, and that it would be brought to implementation, soon.
He said once the act is endorsed by the Parliament, the government officials would be given chance to opt either the DV, PR and Green Card or the government service.
