The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) on Wednesday filed a case at the Special Court against four government officials and the middlemen involved in approving fake documents for foreign job seekers.
The CIAA has filed a charge-sheet against the four officials demanding Rs. 18, 90,000 in compensation and legal action as per the Corruption Prevention Act 2059 BS.
According to a press statement issued by CIAA, the accused officials had taken bribes from over 172 youths, aspiring to go to labour destinatin in Gulf countries, to approve their fake documents .
Director of Department of Foreign Employment (DoFE), Chiranjivi Adhikari, section officer Kumar Prasad Pokhrel, senior non-gazetted officer Laxmi Prasad Dhungana and computer operator Sanjiv Nepal have been found guilty of taking bribes.
Likewise, the charge-sheet has set a compensation of Rs.1, 89,000 for agent Anil Panthi working for Vision and Value Overseas.
