The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has extended the tenure of Nepali National Cricket Team head coach Pubudu Dassanayake’s by a year.
A meeting of CAN members has decided to extend the term of coach Dassanayake for a year on Monday, according to CAN.
Dassanayake has been receiving remuneration of US$ 5000 per month along with his accommodation expenses. However, CAN has not unveiled the revised wage for him.
Dassanayake has played a vital role in the development of Nepali Cricket to this level, taking the national team to the ICC World T20 for the first time.
Dassanayake, a former Sri Lankan test player, was first appointed as the new cricket coach for Nepal on 23 August, 2011 for the period of six months.During the arrival for the first time as coach to Nepal, Dassanayake had said that it is a new challenge and also an opportunity for him to coach Nepal's national team.
