UCPN (Maoist) senior leader Baburam Bhattarai has remarked that he feels ashamed to call himself a communist leader because of the working style and attitude of fellow leaders. Bhattarai further lobbied for the formation of a new political force saying that leadership of communist parties were dominated by attitude of servitude.
“The communist parties have progressively become weaker as the leadership reeks of servitude,” said the former prime minister,” This is the reason why new party has not been able to take shape. Since there has been no improvement in leadership system, working style and attitude of the leaders, I feel sorry to consider myself a communist.”
He further warned that the communist parties could be alienated from the public if they carry on with the current working style.
