Dealers slash cell phone price as competition grows

As the competition among mobile phone brands intensifies, dealers of different mobile brands have been slashing the price of different models under their flagship.

With more than a dozens mobile brands in the market, the competition has been tough, and the dealers have chosen to cut off the price of handsets to remain in the competition.

Within a period of a month, major mobile brands existing in the market, including Sony, Samsung and Colors, among others, have reduced the price of mobile phones, especially the smart phones. Dealers have slashed the price by as much as Rs 3,000.

Nepa Hima Trade Link, the authorized distributor of handsets of Sony brand in Nepal, has slashed the price of different mobile phones of the brand such as Sony-Xperia Z, Xperia E, Xperia C, Xperia L and Xperia M. According to the company, price of Xperia Z has been reduced to Rs 49,000 from Rs 52,000, while price of Xperia C has also been decreased to Rs 26,500 from Rs 29,500. Similarly, the company has also slashed Rs 2,500 on Xperia L and Xperia M, which now cost Rs 26,500 and Rs 19,000 respectively. Likewise, the price of Xperia E has also been reduced by Rs 25,000 to Rs 12,000.
