Dhangadi, Army register first win in One-Day National Cricket

Region No. 9 Dhangadi and Trivhuwan Army Club have won their respective matches to register first win in the ongoing Pepsi Standard Chartered One-Day National Cricket Tournament.

In the match held at TU Ground on Tuesday, Dhangadi secured 66 runs victory over Region No. 5 Nepalgunj. Nepalgunj was all out for 190 runs while chasing the target of 257 runs set by Dhangadi in the first inning.

Deependra Airee made a half-century while Sunil Dhamala contributed 36 runs and Raju Rijal 23 runs for the winning team. Sunil Bhatt and Dinesh Aagri also added 20 runs each.

Praveen Giri scored 33 runs and Anupam Singh 31 runs for Nepalgunj.

In another match held at Rangasala Ground in Pokhara, Army defeated Region No. 6 Baitadi by two wickets to register their first win in the tournament.

Baitadi was restricted just to 134 runs in 36.1 overs in the first inning as Rajesh Pulami claimed three wickets while Surendra Chand, Chandra Saud and Rupesh Shrivastav took two wickets each for Army.

In reply, Army chased the target in 33 overs scoring 137 runs with the loss of eight wickets. Pawan Shrestha scored 35 runs and Chandra Saud 28 runs.
PremTamang took three wickets while Santosh Bhatt and Sunil Tamang claimed two wickets each for Baitadi.

Meanwhile, Bhairahawa and Birgunj have already advanced to the semi-finals of the tournament after four consecutive victories on Monday.
