A campaign of cleaning the Dhobikhola stream has begun from Saturday in connection with the ongoing programme of cleaning the different rivers and streams in the Kathmandu Valley.
Nepal Civil Servants Organisation started the Dhobikhola cleaning campaign as a part of marking its Silver Jubilee. The organization has taken the responsibility of cleaning the 500 meters stretch of the stream from Hanumanthan to Bijuli Bazaar Bridge.
Initiating the campaign, Minister for General Administration Lalbabu Pandit commented that the situation has come for cleansing the country itself. He said the campaign of cleaning the stream is a positive development.
President of the organization Punya Prasad Dhakal said the organization is observing its Silver Jubilee with the objective of promoting zero tolerance policy against corruption and an accountable civil service.
He expressed the commitment to give continuity to the campaign of cleaning the Dhobikhola stream.
