Former king Gyanendra Shah and chairperson of RPP-Nepal, Kamal Thapa have raised their common concern about the latest developments in the Constituent Assembly, saying that the three largest parties have banned the voice of fringe parties inside the House.
Speaking at two separate programs on Saturday, the two royalists said such a divisive policy, particularly of the top three political parties, is unfair.
“While taking key decisions inside the CA, only the voices of the biggest parties must not be heard,” Shah said addressing a felicitation program organized by Prithvi Narayan Shah Academy in Narayangadh, Chitwan today.
“The politics of prohibition initiated by three parties will only delay the overall constitution making process,” Thapa said speaking at RPP-N’s Morang district convention in Urlabari today.
Ex-king Shah and Thapa’s comments have come at a time when the House committee chairpersons were elected with the objective of ensuring one seat each to Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and UCPN (Maoist).
Among the five seats of committee chair, the three largest parties secured three seats, while allocating the remaining two seats to two fringe parties except the RPP-N on Friday.
