Minister for General Administration, Lal Babu Pandit, has said the government would soon make public the names of the civil servants, who have been holding the foreign citizenship, Diversity Visa (DV), Permanent Resident (PR) and green card certificates for permanently residing in foreign countries.
Speaking at a press conference organized by Morang Chapter of the Press Chautari Nepal at Biratnagar today, Minister Pandit said collection of names of those working as the government employees and enjoying DV and PR facilities has reached the final phase. He expressed commitment that the government would make such civil servants' names public and forward them for legal action.
He said the government would give a chance to such civil servants to correct their mistake and those not doing so would be subjected to action on the charge of being disloyal to the country.
Minister Pandit said no power could save them from legal action for the Ministry has asked the foreign embassies to provide the names of the civil servants holding dual citizenship and permission for permanent residency.
Talking to journalists, Minister Pandit expressed his commitment to take the issue to a conclusion claiming that he would not keep the issue pending due to undue influence and pressure from any quarters.
Minister Pandit informed journalists that currently he was working on amending the Civil Service Act to bring reforms in the civil service. He added that the government would bring to book those people who used the government services for wrong purposes and benefitted from it.
Minister Pandit said he has been working to prepare the calendar for the transfer and promotion of the government employees.
