Some private schools in Birgunj have been accused of taking commission from the sale of textbooks. These schools are said to be asking parents to purchase textbooks from specified bookstores.
A parent, who had come to return the recently purchased nursery-level textbooks at a bookstore here on Thursday, said that Holy Home School had asked him to purchase textbooks only from DK Stationery Store. Jiyalal Sah, the school principal, however, refuted the accusation.
“We had only advised some of the uneducated parents that they could purchase the textbooks at DK Stationery,” he said.
