Chairman of the UCPN-Maoist Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said the return of leader Dr Baburam Bhattarai, who had left the Biratnagar national conference of the party amid disputes, is a big achievement.
Addressing the central committee meeting also attended by leader Bhattarai and his coterie at the party headquarters on Thursday, Chairman Dahal said he has been successful to reunite the party despite differences.
The differences would be narrowed gradually and settled finally through the general convention, he said.
However, leader Bhattarai said he joined the central committee of the party with a condition that the party would be cleansed from both ideological and organizational viewpoints.
He reiterated that the party needs to move head in a new manner, focus on institutional issue and percolate the seven-point concept he put forth up to the lower levels of the party.
Leader Bhattarai hoped that coming general convention would address his agenda.
According to party Spokesperson Dinanath Sharma, Chairman Dahal administered the oath of office and secrecy to leader Bhattarai and his group.
The party would meet next on Friday, added Spokesperson Sharma.
