Panchakanya Tej has set final berth with Jagdamba Giants after defeating Kantipur Gurkhas in the Ncell Nepal Premier League (NPL) 2014 played in Dhangadi on Friday.
The final match will be held at Fapla Cricket Ground in Dhangadi on Saturday.
Tej under the captainship of Sharad Veswakar secured a five wickets victory against Basanta Regmi’s Kantipur Gurkhas in the second semifinal match of the League.
Meanwhile, Jagdamba Giants has already advanced to the final of the League defeating Sagarmatha Legends in the first semifinal held in Kanchanpur on Thursday.
Sunny Pun contributed highest 37 runs as Bhuwan Karki scored 35 runs and Veswakar added 13 runs for Tej to chased the target of 117 runs posted by Gurkhas. Tej scored total 119 runs with the loss of five wickets in 29.5 overs.
In the first inning, Regmi made 23 runs, Akash Bista 22 runs, Subash Khakurel 16 runs, Santosh Baral 14 runs and Akash Gupta 12 runs for Gurkhas.
Rajkumar Pradhan claimed three wickets while Karki and Karan KC grabbed two wickets each to pack up Gurkhas in 40.3 overs of the allotted 50 overs.
Tej’s Karki was declared the player of the match.
