The government has decided to provide a financial assistance of Rs 500,000 each to the families of those killed in the avalanche at Mount Everest base camp on April 18.
Altogether 13 mountaineers had lost their lives while three are still missing in the incident.
At a programme organized by Reporters' Club here on Wednesday, Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Bhim Prasad Acharya shared that the government is providing Rs 500,000 each to the bereaved family of the fallen Sherpas.
Efforts are on to search for those missing, he said, adding such incidents are not under anyone's control and there was no carelessness on part of the government.
He added the mountaineering will resume after a week.
On a different note, Minister Acharya made it clear that the government had to shut down the casinos as the proprietors failed to pay royalty to the state and remuneration to the workers.
